Changing the world or maybe just me!

I don't know about you but I for one am completely lost on this stay or leave campaign that is going on. I'm afraid my simple brain just goes into melt down when everyone starts to tell me why we should stay, it all sounds so reasonable. Then I talk to those who say we should leave and their arguments sound reasonable too,  so I'm just left in a quandary. However the one thing I do know is that I want to see the world changed. The terrible tragedy of the shootings in Orlando is another prime example of a world gone mad.
Maybe the question we need to ask ourselves is "How would I change the world?" I know for one that top of my list would be end wars and eradicate poverty and all it's associated problems, primarily starvation and famine and get rid of diseases. And free us from a never ending round of violence.
But as much as I may daydream about what I would do if I won millions on the lottery changing the world is an inside out job and it starts with me. When we look to change the world we often look outside of ourselves. We believe that the state of the world is someone else's fault and that it is their (whoever their is) responsibility to put it right. Unfortunately we are wrong on both counts. The world is in the state it is in because of human behavior. The choices we make influence the world around us. The world is in a Constant state of flux, for good or for bad. Those decisions we make each day, some with a great deal of thought others with none at all carry consequences for the whole of humanity. Based on our decisions today  this will decide wether the world has a better or worse tomorrow.
It is very easy to forget that every word thought or deed carries some form of consequence. So imagine if you will for a minute how the world could change if we became very conscious of every word thought and deed and what the impact would be if we always chose to do and say good. Our
lives are so intertwined with our neighbour that the world only changes when men and women grow in virtue and character. If we want to improve the world then we need to become better people today then we were yesterday and tomorrow we need to become better people than we are today. The destiny of the world is wrapped up in this very simple quest. It is through our own personal quest to live good honest and compassionate lives that we will see a world changed. Will this help me to make a decision on how to vote? Well I'm not sure, but the one thing I do know is I want my vote to be for the common good of all not just for the few.
